Casting Off to Sea
Casting off. It’s one of the most exciting parts of knitting any item – the moment of the big finale! Last year, we did an episode on our favorite cast ons. Now it’s time to revisit, and talk about casting off! In this episode, we talk about our favorite cast off techniques, the ones we liked and the ones we disliked. We talk about which methods work best for which projects, and even the ones we haven’t tried yet! Do you have a favorite?
The types of cast offs we discuss in this episode include:
- Traditional (knit two, pass over one)
- Kitchener
- Jenny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off
- I-cord bind-off
- Tubular bind-off
- Elastic bind-off
- Three-needle bind-off
*Note: We want to remind our listeners that our podcast is a casual knit night format; we are by no means knitting or crochet experts. These are our opinions and preferences only. If you want to learn more about individual bind-off techniques, there are great Youtube channels that discuss and teach these bind-off methods with more depth.
